Emerging Leaders Program

The Program Outcome is to provide an opportunity for aspiring leaders to develop their leadership skills in an active learning environment.

Specific program outcomes are:
Leaders with well developed communication, goal setting, decision making, self-management and conflict management skills;
Leaders who have the confidence and desire to ‘step up’ into senior leadership positions within their organisation;
Leaders committed to pro-actively shaping the future of their team/organisation;
Provide a forum for discussion of leadership and related topics;
Foster a network amongst participants to understand the issues and maximise the opportunities available to them and their respective teams;
For each individual, provide a clear understanding of their own leadership and decision making preferences, and how these impact on their leadership role;
Ensure participants share and learn from the variety of different experiences present on the Program;
Provide all participants with the opportunity to reflect on their leadership practice and experience to date.
 
 
WORKSHOP #1 CULTURE
Thursday 12th August
How is your team going? What is accepted as true about your team? Does your team’s culture harbour any deep-seated excuses for poor performance? Can you change your behaviour to accelerate the change required in your culture?
WORKSHOP #2 STRONG PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Thursday 16th September
Do you know what they really look like? What relationship rating (from 0-5) would you give each of your peers? Would it help to improve your performance and your team’s performance if you were to work on the least productive of these relationships?
WORKSHOP #3 HAVING THE GENUINE CONVERSATIONS
Thursday 21st October
How often do you avoid having a conversation with one of your peers because you don’t think you have enough experience, knowledge or the right? What do you accept as the truth about yourself? What’s the behaviour you’d most like to change about yourself?
WORKSHOP #4 LEADERSHIP STYLES
Thursday 25th November
What are the consequences of your style of leadership on those around you? How do you get the best out of those you lead – all the time? Are you prepared to put the time and effort into building the relationships and trust required for an empowered environment?
