I regularly get asked when people see that I use an i-phone- for business, what I think of it?
I have been using an i-phone for over one year now and it is a great business asset.
If you are due to change your phone and have been contemplating whether to get one, then here are a few benefits:
· You can sync your emails, contacts and calendar to your computer therefore you always have a back up of your contacts.
· You have access to your emails 24/7 if you chose to. I had this function when I first received my phone, however I disconnected the internet option when I travelled overseas. (Good idea to do this as depending on your contract it could cost you $20 per MB downloaded!) Since returning for my travels I have not connected the internet again as I do enjoy the feeling on not having access to emails 24/7, however if you have wireless internet at work or at home it picks up the network and you can use it just like a mini computer. Plus my favourite coffee shop has free wireless internet too.
· When travelling you can make skype calls from your i-phone if you have wireless internet access. This is great for keeping your phone bill at bay particularly when overseas.
· The applications are fantastic and fun. A few of my favourites are of course the Westpac application where you can perform your banking, ‘Keeper’ is great for securely storing your long list of user names and passwords, ‘Sleep cycle’ application monitors how well you sleep and is designed to wake you at the best time (when you are not in a deep sleep) within 30 minutes before your set alarm time. Jamie Oliver’s 20-minute meals application is great if you have to cook, you are not bad at it but you would prefer to be doing something else with your time!
· You will also find applications for goal setting, time management and managing budgets. Infact you will find an application for just about anything you can imagine!
