Since 1989, she has worked in journalism, communication, marketing and public relations roles for a variety of global companies and leading organisations in Australia and New Zealand. In 2001, she established m.a.d.woman to encourage, inspire and enable people to make a positive difference in the environment, community and to the lives of those who need support.

In addition to her corporate consulting work, Melina is the author of motivational books How to be m.a.d (making a difference) and m.a.d. (making a difference) in a green way. She established Single Volunteers, events for community-minded singles, as well as creating a range of programs to improve our world.
